I hope everyone in the States had a great 4th of July yesterday. My dad's birthday was the 2nd, so we celebrated yesterday with a BBQ. He said he wanted a "BIG Strawberry Shortcake", so I made him this Summer Shortcake from Martha Stewart Living. BOY was it good!

That looks so good! Makes me want to go get some strawberries :-).
It wasn't too hard to make - and the shortcake part with the cream cheese and buttermilk was sooo yummy! The hardest part was cutting the stars out - I don't think my cookie cutter was very sharp and it only cut the top portion out - I had to do the rest with a knife - but I think it was worth the effort!
